RUT RO. I NEED GLASSES.

I knew one day something might go wrong with me. Teeth, eyes, back, continence?

At 40, I was getting gray hairs. 41 started putting on the pounds. 42 the fat revolted and started to sag. But 43 was the clincher, i bought my first pair of 'readers'. The pharmacy kind. $19.99 for .5x then it was 1 x then 1.5 x...

NOW these are failing me!!!! ARGH!

It's the computer. I know it. I can be on here 12 hours a day at times. The glasses are for reading the ingredients on boxes. Directions.  The small print in the magazines. BUT now it seems i'm using them HERE! NOW! on the durned computer.

i used to do this.

You know where they sit low on the nose? so you can look OVER them?

Now I find myself not realizing when I do this.

Uhoh! not good. Not good at all.

firefox add-ons

As i got lost in the internet the other night i wandered into some learning. I love when that happens. This time its Firefox. Totally oblivious that Firefox allows all these add on's. I've been a fan of Firefox over Safari for years. Even though Safari works seamlessly on the mac.

Firefox offers all these add-ons. Though a bit confused on what they all do at this time, i do highly suggest if you don't use Firefox as your browser of choice to give it a try. And then head over to the add-ons menu and add a few.

One interesting add-on i'm trying out right now is ScribeFire the blog editor feature seems really cool. I'm typing this blog in the edit window on Firefox and checking it out. It looks and feels good. and  there is the menu bar at the top
just like in blogger. ScribeFire has two other features i don't really need at the moment. For ads on your blog. But you might.

Though it did take an extra minute to log in to Picassa web albums seems easy. And the photo popped in. Cool.

Look at the photo and down at the bottom you can see the notepad icon. Thats for ScribeFire. Then two more GreaseMonkey and a geo -cache feature. (not sure how i added that but cool). On the far left are additional Firefox add-ons. They do take some getting used to.

One really cool feature is Fire.fm and that is linking you to Last.fm it installed up at the top of your browser (in grey) near the url box. You don't need to log in to hear music. Type in your artist dujour and voila your radio comes on. Awesome!

iMAC and Condensation

Scary little thing happened to me this morning. Well, not little considering the cost of the computer but nonetheless, thought to take a picture. And then research it.

I panicked, as i do NOT have time to take this back to the store and either have it fixed or replaced. So i was in panic mode this morning.

It seems that any ambient temperature change will create a condensation in the lower right hand corner of your iMAC. When first seeing it, i thought maybe it got wet. but nothing else was wet.

My air conditioning has never been on since purchasing this computer. My best guess is that the temperature outside quickly decreased faster than the mac could handle. 82˚ right now. 73% humidity.

Its been about 3 hours since seeing it this morning and its all gone at this point. Computer has been on for those 3 hours. And it was in sleep mode most of the evening till i got on this morning. So the computer had cooled down.

Here is a another picture of what it looks like.

Those of you savvy enough to pull the glass to clean, I also found this video this morning. I'm not brave enough. But it did go away. And i'm hoping this is NOT a big deal.
