French Fight Monsanto

That “situation,” the judge wrote, “resulted from the unbridled distribution of modified genes that constitutes a clear and present danger for the well-being of others, in the sense that it could be the source of contamination and unwanted pollution.”[3] 1 The court agreed with the defendants’ assertion that their action was one of civil disobedience in defense of an agricultural system they argued was under siege by the spread of genetically engineered crops into France.

More on Monsanto

Interesting and well worth the read articles. Please, read!

What is so upsetting i guess is that nothing is being done to stop this. Where are the government research groups? Where are OUR lobbyists that are fighting to stop 3 or 4 giant companies from controlling the world's food? And now with all the flooding in the Midwest, this is just fuel for Monsanto's fire. With many farmers crops gone. Their farms possibly gone. I bet Monsanto will there. And the farmer who has lost it all, hoping to regain something, will make a deal with the devil.

Patenting the "Climate Genes"

Interesting items in these articles.

Monsanto spends over $2million a day in research.

US corn production is 44% of the worlds export.

Japan imports almost 100% of their corn from the US.

Monsanto has filed over 500 patents across the globe for their seeds. Their latest claim is the "climate ready" seed.

BASF is another company in this megalopoly.

And this is what made me choke on my water.

"The top 10 seed companies control 57% of the global seed market".

MORE GMO articles to read

I don't know about you, but this stuff really gets me boiling. And a little nauseous to boot. The milk i'm drinking is WHAT?? Farmers not allowed to proclaim their milk is all natural and doesn't have rBST in it?

well... soon i do believe i will be swimming in it. And not to take away from my wallowing in WHERE ARE THE BABES? This is too important not to post and keep it on everyone's mind.

And i know people READ my BLOG. (now why don't you post?)

Reminds me of the Dances with wolves scene where the old cow hand, says, people back East are wondering, "now why don't he write?", when he's looking at a corpse with an arrow thru his body. Great scene!

Anyway, back to MONSANTO and the evil GMO...

Monsanto eats the world

If you aren't aware, Monsanto has created a Genetically Modified seed product. And they are trying to strong arm the world with it. This seed is to be purchased by you, the farmer, used once, harvested once, and then that's it. YOU WILL HAVE TO REPURCHASE THE SEED EVERY YEAR after that. HUH? Yep!! Didn't i just write in one of my posts, HE WHO CONTROLS THE FOOD, CONTROLS THE PEOPLE? (aristotle, smart man).

check out this site below for more unnerving information. Like the contract agreement a person must sign. My goodness what's next?

Monsanto sues a farmer

So read on:

Article from Here is below:

MONSANTO PATENTS ASSERTED AGAINST AMERICAN FARMERS REJECTED BY PATENT OFFICE:

PUBPAT Initiated Review Leads PTO to Find All Claims of All Four Patents Invalid

Public Patent Foundation, 24 July 2007.
http://www.pubpat.org/monsantorejections.htm

NEW YORK – July 24, 2007 -- The Public Patent Foundation (PUBPAT) announced today that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has rejected four key Monsanto patents related to genetically modified crops that PUBPAT challenged last year because the agricultural giant is using them to harass, intimidate, sue - and in some cases literally bankrupt - American farmers. In its Office Actions rejecting each of the patents, the USPTO held that evidence submitted by PUBPAT, in addition to other prior art located by the Patent Office's Examiners, showed that Monsanto was not entitled to any of the patents.

Monsanto has filed dozens of patent infringement lawsuits asserting the four challenged patents against American farmers, many of whom are unable to hire adequate representation to defend themselves in court.

The crime these farmers are accused of is nothing more than saving seed from one year's crop to replant the following year, something farmers have done since the beginning of time.

One study of the matter found that, "Monsanto has used heavy-handed investigations and ruthless prosecutions that have fundamentally changed the way many American farmers farm. The result has been nothing less than an assault on the foundations of farming practices and traditions that have endured for centuries in this country and millennia around the world, including one of the oldest, the right to save and replant crop seed."

The lawsuits filed by Monsanto against American farmers include Monsanto Company v. Mitchell Scruggs, et al, 459 F.3d 1328 (Fed. Cir. 2006), Monsanto Company v. Kem Ralph individually, et al, 382 F.3d 1374 (Fed. Cir. 2004) and Monsanto Company v. Homan McFarling, 363 F.3d 1336 (Fed. Cir. 2004).

Although Monsanto has the opportunity to respond to the Patent Office's rejections of the patents (U.S. Patents Nos. 5,164,316, 5,196,525, 5,322,938 and 5,352,605), third party requests for re-examination, like the ones filed by PUBPAT against the four Monsanto patents, are successful in having the reviewed patents either changed or completely revoked more than two-thirds of the time.

"We are extremely pleased that the Patent Office has agreed with us that Monsanto does not deserve these patents that it has used to unfairly bully American farmers," said Dan Ravicher, PUBPAT's Executive Director. "Hopefully, this is the beginning of the end of the harm being caused to the public by Monsanto's aggressive
assertion of these patents, which threatens family farms and a diverse American food supply."

*Comment from GM-free Ireland: *
The rejection of the US patents may not affect their validity in Europe. Until the EU Patent Office takes similar action against all GMO crop patents, European farmers who are contaminated are also liable to patent infringment lawsuits and the expropriation of their seeds and crops.

In a 9 March 2007 live television debate on RTE's Seoige & O'Sea programme, Monsanto Ireland CEO Dr. Patrick O'Reilly vehemently denied that Monsanto had ever filed, or threatened to file, patent infringement lawsuits against American farmers contaminated by Monsanto's GM seeds or crops. The above mentioned lawsuits are evidence of the contrary.

Raw milk!! harmful? c'mon

this article here is a really good read. and this article here

what i don't understand is how can the government regulate your personal choice? It doesn't make sense to me. Though the article does spell out that, AGAIN, big AG is at the core of it. The dairy industry is a 20 billion dollar a year industry. and if we all started buying fresh, hmmm, what would that do to them and being able to ship you milk to far away places. Well, it would make it nonexistent. Please read these articles. There is so much people just take for granted. There are people that drink raw milk and all of sudden their health improves drastically. Now why is that? This like ecsema, allergies, intestinal problems, just disappear.

And on another note, doesn't anyone care what happens to the cows? The goat industry is much smaller, but face the same issues. But those poor cows that just never live past 4, can't produce milk past 2 and for what? they live on concrete. They never get to EAT what they are supposed to eat to make healthy milk. They are fed antibiotics to help them combat illnesses, which would be nonexistent if they could be outside foraging on their own. And their bodies wouldn't collapse under them if they didn't get fed hormones to speed up the process.

Help save a cow! Drink raw milk!

Why in the world do we allow this?

And one last little note to ponder:

HE WHO CONTROLS
THE FOOD SUPPLY,
CONTROLS THE PEOPLE....

no, i didn't write that. Aristotle did!
